No class tomorrow!

In preparation for FAAPI, I'm afraid I won't be able to make it for class tomorrow. So, I'll hopefully see some of you around in Jujuy, and will definitely be seeing you all next week. Take this time to catch up with your overdue work, apart from reading and writing as usual! :)
I've been around in your blogs and have seen some amazing work! I'm planning to share some of your blog work at the Webblogging workshop I'm presenting at FAAPI. Congratulations to the group in general!
PS: I could not get in Jesica's blog - does anyone know why? If you do, I'd love to hear before Wednesday. I was planning to show parts of it in my presentation!

IMPORTANT: Today's class at Centro Cultural!

On Tuesday August 21, J. Etcheverry will be lecturing at Centro Cultural Virla at 8:30pm. We shall be attending the lecture instead of our regular class. You will have to write a detailed report on the main ideas of his presentation, and a reaction paper as well. I hope you enjoy Mr. Etcheverry. Also, we should plan to be there around 8pm as a lot of people are expected to attend -and it's free of charge. Please, pass the word among your classmates. See you there!

Tomorrow's Parcial

Sorry I couldn't make it to class yesterday. Just in case, I wanted to clarify a few points about your parcial tomorrow:
  • The Lord of the Flies: the whole book, even though we couldn't finish the analysis in class.
  • Textbook: the first four units. You need to study unit 4 on your own. You have practice + key in your workbook.
  • Blog pieces: you need to turn in your two best pieces of creative writing from your blog. They should be typed, double-spaced and with appropriate header.
The blog assignment and your reading log are due in August. If you want to save money, you can start writing your reading reports on your blog - make sure you number your reports and you attach the link to your article. Also, you should separate both sections by using the following LABELS: "Journal" for your regular entries, and "Reading Log" for your reports. You type the appropriate label after you have typed your "new post" and before hitting the orange button "Publish Post". Hope this helps.

News for your relief!

In recognition of your good work since the beginning of the year, I've decided to postpone the deadline for the blog completion and presentation of article reviews until the first week of class when we're back in August. This way you can focus on preparing for the first parcial. HOWEVER, the two best pieces from your blog MUST be turned in on Thursday - in hard copy, double-spaced, etc.

Hope this encourages you to keep working as hard and as well as you have throughout this very intense first term.
